Living in Korea you see many, often rather amusing, examples of Konglish, mistranslations and spelling mistakes. This is one of my favourites, a pillar showing where the ‘noodle’ aisle is in my local Homeplus (Tesco). Just goes to show that even the huge, multi-national corporations get it wrong sometimes…
When wandering through a park in Seoul a couple of weeks ago, we came across this rather amusing list of park rules. Possibly the most thorough and specific list of park fines in existence.
Along with the usual no littering/no fouling rules, the sign also informed us that we were not allowed to cut down any trees, we couldn’t dig any holes, and we were banned from planting flowers (damn). However, the one that really confused us was this.
But what does it mean?? No running fast enough to leave a cloud of dust? No burping? No speech bubbles? The mind boggles.
Ideas on a postcard please, or in the comments 🙂
